Your Options You Have Three Options For
Search Engine Positioning
- Completely ignore the
subject.
Pray for a miracle.
- Do it yourself.
If you go this route without the proper
knowledge, it's like lighting a match in close proximity to an open container
of gasoline. You're likely to self-immolate. Should you
decide to position yourself, be sure you
check out Danny Sullivan's site,
http://www.searchenginewatch.com. He has a free
newsletter as well as a paid newsletter. You should
at least subscribe to the free version so that you are
informed before you make an irreversible blunder.
- Have someone else do your positioning for you.
Of course you have lots of people and companies to choose
from, some good, some bad.
We're a great choice, but you must judge for yourself.
If You Think You Can Just
Ignore Search Engines, Think Again
- There are more than 100,000
content-rich searchable databases available on the Web. (BrightPlanet
Report)
- There are an estimated 500
billion individual documents on the Web.
- No single search engine is
indexing more than 60% of the Web with some smaller search
engines indexing just 2% (NEC Research Institute)
- Your site's chance for a top
ranking may be one in 500 billion matching documents. You
have a better chance of winning the lottery!
- The growth of e-commerce is
staggering. By 2002, sales are expected to reach $360 billion.
If you want a piece of the pie, your site MUST be easy to
find! Forrester Research, December 1999.
